Lotto

Watched a Chinese film, forgot the film's title, but there was a line delivered that struck me,  the guy sayaing to his lady companion,
Lotto is like the reflection of a full moon on the lake; it seems so near yet so far that you can never really attain it.

Yet how come so many people try their luck and bet the lottery?
Does this reflect the current conditions we have in the country, and that these are dark and hard times for us?

The instant money that we will gain and attain will surely provide an instant solution to all our financial problems and difficulties. From our daily existence in this country.

No wonder, a lot of people nowadays are really falling in line at betting stations, everyone wishing that they could win the jackpot price.
Sometimes, I am one of those people trying to bet on luck to solve all my monetary problems.
I occasionally try to bet and wish myself luck. Wishing hard seems not to be enough.

Subconsciously, I engage in calling all my belief system to help me win the jackpot price; and I know I am not alone in calling their respective Gods of their religion.

Seems, this form of gambling is universal as the BBC news below indicates.

Is gambling a problem in the UK?
Wed, 19 Sep 2007 09:41:27 BST

A study of gambling habits in the UK has revealed that there are more than a quarter of a million problem gamblers.

That figure is virtually unchanged since the last major report in 1999.

The Gambling Prevalance Study found that because of a drop in National Lottery sales, the overall number who gamble fell from 72% to 68%. But around 32 million people still took part in some type of betting last year.

Researchers questioned more than 9,000 people about 17 types of gambling, including scratchcards, online betting and casinos.

The government is currently reviewing plans to build super-casinos.

Is gambling too widespread? Do you enjoy the occasional flutter or are you a "problem gambler"? Can "super-casinos" help regenerate an area? Should there be limits on gambling advertising?

Admission

I owe a lot of money.

I am finally accepting this reality.

I admit it at last.

I am desperate.

I dont know what to do.

And I want to let it out without the embarrassment.

This would be my window to letting all of my desperations and angst OUT
